This Week's Top Story

A Kim Davis Update + The Supreme Court

We follow up on the Supreme Court's Decision to toss out Kim Davis' appeal. The Supreme Court has decided to hear oral arguments for the cases of West Virginia v. B.P.J. and Little v. Hecox. The states at the center of these cases, West Virginia and Idaho, both have laws that restrict trans girls participation in school sports. Should the court rule in favor of the states, there's a strong concern that this could set a precedent for even more discrimination against trans people.

This Week In Politics

Texas Issued a Partial Drag Performance Ban

A Federal appeals court allowed the State of Texas to revisit a ruling made in 2023 that was intended to ban drag performances in the vicinity of people under 18. The law as it stands currently bans performances that contain nude performers in the presence of people under 18. The diction around this potential ban is so vague that it opens up room for legal discrimination against all drag performers regardless of their show's content. Venues that hold performances that go against the Senate 12 law can face a fine of up to $10,000 dollars and performers could face a Grade A misdemeanor if found guilty.

This Week In Entertainment and Culture

Celebrating Our Trans Siblings During Transgender Awareness Week

Transgender Awareness Week goes from November 13-November 19th. It's a time to celebrate our trans siblings and educate others all at the same time. Immediately following the week on November 20th we will remember our trans siblings we've lost to anti-trans violence this year on Transgender Day of Remembrance.

The Creative Director of Balmain Steps Down

Olivier Rousteing, known to the world as the Director of Balmain, has decided to step down. Oliver served as the Creative director for the fashion brand for 14 years. His designs are known to feature waist-cinching belts, skin-tight silhouettes, and extravagant beading and embroidery.

The Queers Are Nominated for Grammy's

We take a look at the queer artists who were nominated for the Grammys! Some notable artists include Cynthia Erivo, Doechii, Tyler the Creator, Durand Bernarr, Chappell Roan, Billie Eilish, Kehlani and Kaytranada. We out here! The 67th Grammy awards air Sunday February 2nd.
