Gein escalated from grave-robbing to murder, driven by a delusional need to resurrect his dead mother and a grotesque desire to quite literally step into her skin.  Eventually, inside his farmhouse, investigators uncovered a nightmare stitched together from human remains: masks, corsets, lampshades, skulls, belts, and even a box containing the genitalia of nine different women. It was a discovery that redefined American horror.

This episode unpacks the psychology behind Gein’s depravity, including his warped devotion to his domineering mother, his dissociation, and his fixation with anatomy.
