A night security guard, working alone in a graveyard vicarage, finds a strange journal of obituaries that begins with the recounting of a woman named Margaret Greymouth. What starts as idle reading to pass the time soon opens into a darker story of impossible relics, occultism, the supernatural, and something far more dangerous than a collection of old papers.
