Rory Cargill is an award-winning comedy performer, writer, actor and filmmaker whose work blends brilliantly observed characters with ambitious visual comedy. Often compared to Peter Serafinowicz and described as “the British Chris Lilley” for his remarkable versatility, Rory has built a reputation for disappearing completely into an extraordinary range of comic creations. His debut multimedia sketch show Television 1 was hailed as “the epitome of the Fringe” and “pitch-perfect”, while his comedy short The Astonishing Adventures of Alfred screened at the BAFTA-qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival and premiered in the US at the LA Comedy Festival. His online sketches have attracted more than 20 million views, with his hugely popular Indie Boys series featuring collaborations with comedian Kyle Gordon and musicians Kate Nash and The Hoosiers. Rory has also written for television and digital projects, hosted the London comedy night Something or Other, welcoming guests including Fatiha El-Ghorri, Esther Manito and Ania Magliano, and continues to create inventive comedy that combines sharp writing, technical ingenuity and meticulous attention to detail.
