Episode Description
“Daylight” singer and breakout star David Kushner joins Devon on the show this week to discuss the Tom Odell to Fetty Wap pipeline, chat about his songwriting process, and bond over the shared human experience of attempting to moonwalk.
David Kushner is a Chicago-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter known for his distinctive baritone and introspective songwriting. After building an audience online, he quickly developed a global following, with billions of streams and a growing international presence.
Kushner’s breakthrough single, “Daylight,” became a worldwide hit, earning multi-platinum certifications and surpassing 1.7 billion Spotify streams. The song’s exploration of faith, doubt, longing, and redemption set the tone for his 2024 debut album, The Dichotomy, which blended elements of folk, alternative, pop, gospel, and rock with cinematic production and personal storytelling.
Since then, Kushner has continued to expand his reach through headline shows, festival performances, and new music. His latest single, “Electrified,” marks another step in his evolving sound as he works toward his highly anticipated second album.
With a focus on themes of identity, faith, and self-discovery, Kushner continues to develop his artistic voice while connecting personal experiences with broader human questions.
