When Erich Bergen, who played Blake Moran for six seasons on “Madam Secretary” was asked to audition for the role of John F. Kennedy Jr. in “Love Story” (new episodes air Thursdays at 9pm ET/PT on FX, streaming the next day on Hulu) he decided to pass. Luckily he was cast as Anthony Radziwill, best friend and cousin to JFK Jr. Erich talks with me about the challenges of playing a real-life character; growing up in NYC in the 1990s during the height of the city’s obsession with Carolyn and John-John; the magic of shooting on-location in the same places the power couple existed in, and how he prepares for eight-shows-a-week as a song-and-dance man on Broadway.
