The best way to cure yourself of turning Bible characters into heroes is to read about them. While you’re thinking about that, I’ll confess to you that while I was reading the passage this morning, I thought, “seriously?” more than once. Scripture is like that. It compels us to consider whether or not something is there as an example to us or if it is merely something that happened. We’re in Genesis 25, the part of the story where Isaac and Rebekah have twin sons.
