September 1st

* The 2027 budget was presented — $547 million total, a $6.8 million gap closed through tactical cuts, and a leaner format than usual due to unforeseen revenue challenges. The YMCA was included in budget planning unanimously. No vote, presentation only. Public hearing required before October 1st.

* The early childhood education endorsement got a second chance. Kalkhofer moved to reconsider the failed 3-3 vote from August 25th. Passed 5-1, Crist opposed, Marsing recused.

* The four November ballot measures are now officially on the ballot, 6-1. Crist in opposition. R-2026-56 is the formal legal step that puts the public safety tax, open space charter amendment, ranked choice voting, and election cycle realignment on the November 3rd ballot. Without this resolution, none of them could appear.

September 8th

* The early childhood education endorsement finally passed, 5-1. Crist in opposition, Marsing recused. Council now officially endorses the Boulder County child care ballot measure.

* First and Main cleared second reading unanimously — three ordinances and two resolutions all passed and are now law. Groundbreaking is weeks away. Vertical construction starting around November.

* Technology Policy Advisory Board cleared first reading unanimously. New board will advise council on data privacy, AI, smart city issues, and more. Second reading September 22nd.

* 2027 budget presentation continued from September 1st. Two informal direction votes passed 5-2, Marsing and Kalkhofer in opposition. Public hearing required before October 1st.
