The Charlotte Hornets may not have had a representative in the main event, but the franchise’s presence was felt throughout All-Star weekend in Los Angeles. At the center of it all was rookie sensation Kon Knueppel, who attacked the weekend by participating in the Rising Stars Challenge, the Three-Point Contest, and the Shooting Stars Challenge. While Knueppel came away without any hardware, his performance in the opening round of the Three-Point Contest proved he belongs among the league’s elite marksmen. We look at why his poised demeanor throughout the high-pressure festivities is a massive win for the Hornets' long-term future and how his approach mirrored the first All-Star appearance of franchise legend Kemba Walker.

Beyond the rookie's busy schedule, Hornets owner Rick Schnall made waves in the Celebrity Game. After showing off a physique that had social media buzzing, Schnall suited up and looked like a natural on the hardwood, contributing a bucket and an assist while avoiding any major embarassment from Jason Williams. We also see the return of "Stang'n or Clang'n," our statistical measurement of recent player productivity. Grant Williams takes home the top honors this week, showing a significant upward trend in his game score and shooting efficiency as the team heads into the final stretch of the season.
