Liberating Sustainability - Disability

Episode Description

Liberating Sustainability is an intersectional take on the climate emergency. In each episode, field-leaders from student liberation movements and academia deconstruct the exclusivity of sustainability activism and education.

From plastic straws to packaged foods, where are disabled people excluded from sustainability? Are they stereotyped as unproductive or social burdens? And is it fair that non-disabled people define what is acceptable sustainable behaviour? Unpacking these questions are Dr. Gregor Wolbring, Associate Professor in Disability Studies at the University of Calgary, and Malak Mayet, former NUS Disabled Students' Second Place.
