A swamp tavern, a bad plan, and a living tower that beats like a heart—this episode of our family-friendly Land of Eem TTRPG Actual Play goes from jokes to jeopardy fast. Joined by Bellow and Chini, we journey south to reach Dark Shroom Tower, a cult stronghold sealed behind Fungals that only open to foul words. The bluff works… until it doesn’t. When the elder’s telepathy tears the lie apart, the door slams shut and we’re trapped inside, forced to turn the environment into our greatest weapon.

From acoustics for a sonic strike to torching the mycelium ceiling before it can regenerate, the battle becomes a puzzle of tactics, timing, and creative chaos. Crystal swords flash. The elder heals as quickly as we can wound. And then comes the most absurd Land of Eem solution imaginable: feeding laxatives to the tower itself to purge the corruption. It works—at a cost. The Dark Shroom’s essence floods into Hooch, making him the new locus of power as the cult kneels in stunned reverence. What follows is decisive and cathartic: hosts severed from parasites, thralls freed, and an elder seeking penance among the Fungals. For the first time, the living tower falls silent.

We stay to handle the aftermath—free fifteen prisoners, calm the shaken, and carve a safe road home. The loot haul is practical (a halberd, boots, a wizard hat, coin, and a fresh “Charge” trick), but the true reward is a community saved and a corrupt root chopped clean through. Seth and Fran choose river country, love, and rest, while the party shoulders the next leg of the journey across the Mucklands.
