Episode Description
In 2015, the story of Tabby’s Star, named after discoverer Dr. Tabetha Boyajian, captivated the science news cycle for months with one idea being that the dimming and dipping of the star could be be of an alien civilization building a dyson sphere or constructing a dyson swarm.Up until recently, Tabby's star was so far the only known star to show such unusual slow dimming.Dr. Edward Schmidt is a professor emeritus at the University Nebraska-Lincoln having taught physics and astronomy for over 40 years. His most recent paper looked for analogs of Tabby’s star KIC 8462852 using previously available survey data.
