The Sexual Revolution didn’t just loosen society’s rules around sex. It fundamentally changed what our culture believes sex is for, what marriage and gender mean, and what children are owed.

This week, we sit down with Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, founder of the Ruth Institute, economist, and author of The Sexual State, to trace the ideas that brought us to where we are today.

Dr. Morse expertly walks us through three interconnected ideologies at the heart of the Sexual Revolution: contraception ideology, which separates sex from children; divorce ideology, which separates children from the lifelong union of their parents; and gender ideology, which separates personal identity from their biological sex.

But this conversation isn't only about what went wrong. We discuss the often-overlooked human cost of these ideas, especially for children, and why Christians need to offer something better than opposition. What is the better story of sex, marriage, family, and the human body? And how can the Church obey its God-given mandate and build a culture marked by truth, goodness, beauty, and love?

Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse is the founder of the Ruth Institute, an international coalition dedicated to defending the family and addressing the harms of the Sexual Revolution. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Rochester and taught economics at Yale and George Mason Universities for 15 years.

Dr. Morse has authored or co-authored six books and spoken around the world on marriage, family, and sexual ethics. Her latest book, The Sexual State: How Elite Ideologies Are Destroying Lives and Why the Church Was Right All Along, examines the ideologies behind the Sexual Revolution and their impact on individuals, families, and society.
