Episode Description
The USDA has been promoting its “Stomp It” campaign for some years now to try to control the spread of the invasive Spotted Lanternfly, but the plant-hopping insect, a native of Southeast Asia, has continued to travel out from the Mid-Atlantic where it first arrived in the United States, and is threatening fruit trees and vineyards. As the insect embarks on another annual mating season come September, Sunil Dasgupta talks with Penn State University entomologist Julie Urban about the effort to kill them.
