Episode Description

Three weeks into ARC Raiders and things finally started to click. My early runs were rough—I wasted materials on pointless upgrades, took fights I couldn’t win, and lost gear constantly. The biggest lesson? Smart progression matters more than grinding.

When you first jump in after grabbing your ARC Raiders Steam key, the upgrade system feels overwhelming. There are weapons, armor pieces, utilities, mods—too many choices. The most common mistake is spreading resources across everything. That approach leaves you underpowered everywhere.

Instead, focus your early materials on one primary weapon. Pick something that fits your playstyle and push it to tier 2, then tier 3 as soon as possible. The jump from basic to tier 2 is huge, and tier 3 makes difficult enemies far more manageable. Assault rifles are reliable for most players, while SMGs reward aggressive play. Avoid early snipers unless you’re confident with positioning—they’re punishing for beginners.

Armor progression is simpler than it looks. Upgrade your chest piece first. It protects the largest hitbox and gives the most survivability value. Helmet comes second because headshots are deadly. Arms and legs can stay at lower tiers early on—you’re rarely dying because your shins lack protection. Players who spread upgrades evenly often wonder why they feel so fragile, especially those new players who picked up their copy from a cdkeys shop and rush into progression without a plan.

One upgrade that’s constantly overlooked is your backpack. Increasing storage doesn’t help in combat directly, but it dramatically improves long-term progression. Extracting more resources per successful raid compounds over time, effectively accelerating every other upgrade path.

Utilities should prioritize survivability. Upgrade medkits early—faster healing and better recovery often determine whether you survive an ambush. After that, scanners are extremely useful for avoiding unnecessary fights. Staying alive consistently beats flashy gadgets.

When it comes to weapon attachments, focus on recoil and stability before damage boosts. Accuracy wins fights, especially while you’re still learning enemy patterns. A simple 2–4x optic is far more practical than high-magnification scopes in most engagements.

Finally, don’t ignore gathering tools. Faster harvesting reduces time spent exposed in dangerous zones and improves extraction success.

ARC Raiders progression isn’t about maxing everything quickly—it’s about prioritizing upgrades that increase survival and resource efficiency. A focused build will carry you further than spreading materials thin across every slot.
