In Asheville, North Carolina, history doesn’t fade so much as it settles in. A narrow alley remembers a violent night, and some say it still answers back after dark.  Inside one of the city’s oldest homes, the sounds of children drift through empty rooms while something far heavier lingers below.  Not all of Asheville's past stayed buried, and some of it still haunts the streets and homes of the city today.
