Episode Description
High above Glossop, the Longdendale valley cuts through the Peak District beneath dark reservoirs, Roman roads, and some of the bleakest moorland in England.
For generations, locals have reported strange lights moving across the hills after dark. They called them the Devil’s Bonfires.
Then in 1997, emergency crews searched the moors for a crashed aircraft that apparently never existed.
In this episode, we explore the real history, archaeology, aviation disasters, folklore, and unexplained stories surrounding one of Britain’s most atmospheric valleys.
Including:
The Longdendale Lights
The Phantom Plane Crash
Bleaklow aircraft wrecks
Roman roads across the Pennines
The Victorian Wild Man legend
Peak District folklore and ghost stories
