Retired Party Girl, Full-Time GenX Icon

She calls herself a "retired party girl from the 1900s", but Kelly Manno is one of the busiest women in GenX comedy.  The social media star and stand-up comedian grew up in the small blue-collar steel town of Granite City, Illinois, and built a following of more than 5 million by being exactly who she is: pink, bedazzled, foul-mouthed dynamite and the "girls girl" everyone wants in their corner.  In this episode of GenX Adulting, she pulls back the curtain on how it all happened.

Kelly takes us from a Granite City childhood that included living in a haunted house, to the start of her media career in morning radio, through her days as a professional photographer and host of “The Kelly Manno Show” podcast, and into the viral social media stardom and stand-up career that made her a household name for GenX audiences.  She's hilarious and refreshingly real about the stuff most people won't say out loud: navigating divorce after 20 years of marriage and a co-parenting relationship most can only wish for, raising teenagers while going viral, finding fame in her 40s and the hard-won confidence to not care what anyone thinks.
