85: Rosicrucian American Order Part I: Origins of the Rosy Cross - Rosicrucianism is a spiritual and cultural movement influenced by Esoteric Christianity and Hermeticism that arose in early modern Europe in the early 17th century after the publication of several texts announcing to the world a new secret society. Rosicrucianism is symbolized by the Rose Cross or Rosy Cross. But what is its influence on the creation of the United States of America?
Walk with Joel through the dark corridors of the origins of Rosicrucianism as he discovers the beginnings of this mysterious secret society. First, he looks at Manly P. Hall’s “The Secret Destiny of America” and what it has to say about America being the focal point of esoteric free thinking. He then looks at two of the main contributors to the Rosy Cross, Sir Francis Bacon and John Dee, and if they had more to do with the reorganization of the modern structure of the fraternity. Finally, Joel looks at Fama Fraternitatis Rosae Crucis, Confessio Fraternitatis and The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreuz, the three manuscripts that appear in the early 1600s and who were the hidden writers behind them.
