Episode Description
This week we review and discuss Primate, a horror film directed by Johannes Roberts and starring Jonny Sequoyah, Jessica Alexander and Troy Kotsur, about an adopted chimpanzee who gets bitten by a rapid animal and becomes violent towards his human family.
We talk about how this is the okayest movie we have seen in a while that delivers exactly on what it promises and nothing else, how review scores are surprisingly high for a movie this basic, whether the movie delivers on suspense and violence enough to carry the movie, how the movie actually does a lot of things right that many (especially horror) movies tend to get wrong, the numerous instances of ideas that are introduced throughout the movie and then never paid off and how each of these could easily have elevated the movie, and much more.
