Sports Betting Still a Bad Bet

Episode Description

Sports betting in the USA is on a roll, and the gambling missteps or crimes of high profile athletes and coaches does not seem to have slowed this juggernaut.  In 2018, the Supreme Court allowed states to determine their own approach to sports betting.  By 2026, twenty seven states have legalized online sports gambling.  With the explosive growth of apps like DraftKings, FanDuel, and more, American adults can bet on sports 24/7.  Now add "prediction markets" to the mix. Sounds great, but gambling still leads many into debt, addictive behavior, related criminal activity, sometimes loss of jobs and relationships. Sports betting is not a good deal, i.e. a good bet, for anyone other than those who own the gambling operations. It's not good stewardship, promotes consensual theft, and encourages covetousness.  For more Christian commentary, see my website at www.rexmrogers.com or check my YouTube channel @DrRexRogers.  #wagering #SportsBetting #gambling
