Episode Description
Detroit’s loss in Kansas City wasn’t about effort—it was about points. With a depleted secondary, this always profiled as a “race to 30,” and the Lions simply didn’t finish laps: 2 red-zone trips, just 1 TD, 297 total yards, 17 points. KC ran 62 plays to Detroit’s 53 and went 4-for-6 in the red zone. The ground game vanished after a bully-ball opening drive (under 100 rushing yards), and matchup plans—isolating KC’s LBs—never translated into touchdowns. Penalties (4 for DET, 0 accepted for KC) and the late illegal-motion wipe-out stung, but the real miss was execution. Dan Campbell called out the postgame scuffle; Brian Branch owned it. On to Tampa: Detroit has to rediscover red-zone teeth and ride Gibbs/OL to set up Goff.
