Episode Description
Juan Enriquez says we already poked the weather monster. I ask why solving energy and reaching net zero won’t simply steer us out of trouble. His answer: we misnamed the planet. Most of the heat is stored in the oceans, and water cools slowly.
We get into marine cloud layers, stratospheric geoengineering, factories the size of cities, and the science we need to do before an emergency makes somebody do something stupid. Juan says we still have agency—but we’re running out of it.
