Judson prepares for one of the biggest moments of his professional career. Brian recounts a hookup that took him to the cleaners in more ways than one. The Hookup of the Week finds a listener living out the fantasy of hooking up with the hot nurse attending to him in the ER, and inspires Judson and Brian to share their own stories of doctor’s office hookups. The two are then joined by Broadway actor John-Andrew Morrison, currently on the boards as Mary’s Husband in Oh, Mary! John-Andrew talks about how he came to play our 16th president in Broadway’s most popular play, how he was able to make the role his own, and the differences between his four leading ladies since he took office–Jane Krakowski, Hannah Solow, Jinkx Monsoon and John Cameron Mitchell. He also celebrates 18 years of sobriety, the community he has found through recovery, and how being sober helped him reclaim his career. John-Andrew details his decade-long journey with A Strange Loop, winner of both the Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award, and the show for which he also received a Tony nomination. He then shares three Daddy Issues–one sexy, one practical and one literal–before helping Brian and Judson respond to a Go Ask Your Dad question from a listener curious about strategies for saying no and making sure boundaries are respected.
