This week Mayor Brandon Bochenski makes the announcement that the city of Grand Forks is considering eliminating the city portion of property tax in exchange for a modest increase in franchise fees and sales tax. The proposed taxes would be lower than other cities in the area and would set Grand Forks apart from the traditional way cities are funded.
