Episode Description
On this weekâs edition of Ghoulvie Screamset Horrortober we have two films for you that are connected by a secret phantom theme that might surprise you, but not if you ever listened to this show or seen either of these movies.
First up from 1935 is James Whaleâs classic sequel Bride of Frankenstein. In this edition in the classic Universal horror canon, Boris Karloff is back as the cadaverous big man but this time he learns how to get drunk, smoke loud and get pussy!
Then, we examine a sleazy teenage slasher in 1983âs Sleepaway Camp, a film that accurately captures the upstate NY summer camp experience: a place of sun drenched magic where your parents send you to be looked after by juvenile delinquents only two to three years older than you where you have your first sexual experiences in a climate of Lord of Flies like bullying where at least some of the staff are pedophiles. This film also contains one of the most genuinely shocking, depraved and out of left field âtwistâ endings of any movie ever.
Enjoy!
