This character, the Bodach, appears in stories across Ireland and Scotland, and is usually a trickster of sorts. This time the Bodach comes to the aid of the Fianna, when the fastest man in Ireland couldn't be found to race against a mighty foreign warrior threatening Ireland's freedom.
