FHNW Opens New Dreispitz Campus: Future-Focused Learning Spaces and Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Professor Dr. Doris Agotai, Director of FHNW’s School of Computer Science, explains that the event marks the opening of FHNW’s new Dreispitz campus, featuring five floors of non-traditional learning environments with group, discussion, focus, co-working, and quiet zones alongside research spaces. The campus primarily relocates the School of Economics from the former site near the station and becomes a second site for the School of Computer Science, complementing the main site in Brugg-Windisch. Agotai describes FHNW as a University of Applied Sciences focused on applied research, industry partnerships, and project-based learning. She notes other Basel-area FHNW schools, including Art and Design nearby, Music, and additional campuses in Muttenz. The building has no single-room offices to encourage exchange, and a revealed “fridge” symbolizes collaboration between schools. Programs are offered in a mix of English and German.
