Episode Description
In this episode we look at the tree of life in Genesis. Most attention goes to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, but the tree of life was never restricted. Adam and Eve were free to eat from it at any time before the fall. After they took the forbidden fruit, everything changed. God drove them out and placed cherubim and a flaming sword to guard the way. We examine why that happened, the possible double intention behind the serpent’s actions, and the mercy shown in preventing a permanent fallen state. The same tree appears again at the end of Scripture, open and free.
