Episode Description
This week on Another F*cking Horror Podcast, Monique and Amy are offering UFO dread, queer history and multiple reasons to scream into your hands (sorry not sorry).
First, Amy covers the Allagash Abductions -a 1976 UFO case involving four friends, a late-night fishing trip, a massive campfire, a very bad decision involving Morse code and a strange light that came way too f*cking close. What starts as a wilderness trip quickly turns into missing time, shared nightmares, hypnotic regression and alien encounter details that are deeply creepy.
Then Monique tells the story of Ted Brown, a Black gay activist who helped organize London’s first Pride march in 1972. But before that, his life was shaped by racism, homophobia, poverty and a biological father who drugged his pregnant mother’s coffee and used the police to have her institutionalized.
So, yes. This one’s another reminder that aliens are unsettling. But humans are way f*cking worse.
Come for the UFO, stay for the PSA that Pride started as protest, visibility can save lives and shitty men remain one of history’s most consistent villains.
Also, if you want this exact “what the f*ck?” energy in person, join Monique and Amy at Florida Man Live on Friday, July 24 at Chili Tavern in Astoria. Florals, flamingos and fabulously Florida outfits are strongly encouraged.
