The US faces a dwindling stockpile of critical weapons systems, having massively depleted them in its war with Iran. The weapons shortage was a factor in President Trump's recent decision to cancel new strikes on Iran and it costs Ukraine most acutely, leaving its cities virtually defenseless against Moscow's relentless attacks.
