200+ Episodes Later: I Interview Myself. 100,000 downloads of the Active Mom Podcast — favorite guests, hardest interviews, & what I’ve learned
Episode Description
The Active Mom Podcast just crossed 100,000 downloads and 200+ episodes, which honestly feels a little surreal. So for this one, I did something a little different…
In this solo episode, I reflect on how the podcast started back when it was the Active Mom Postpartum Podcast, how it evolved into conversations about pregnancy, postpartum, pelvic floor health, return to running, perimenopause, and menopause, and some of the guests and moments that shaped the show along the way.
I talk about the interviews that challenged my thinking the most, the hardest episodes to record, and how talking with researchers, clinicians, athletes, and everyday moms has changed the way I practice as a pelvic floor physical therapist.
This podcast has always been about one thing: making women’s health research, pelvic floor information, women's stories and real conversations about movement and performance more accessible.
In this episode I talk about:
• Why I started the Active Mom Podcast
• What it means to reach 100,000 downloads in a very niche space
• How the show evolved from postpartum conversations to women’s health across the lifespan
• Some of the guests and research conversations that shaped my thinking
• The episodes that were the hardest to record
• Misunderstandings that still exist around pelvic floor function and exercise
• What I hope the next chapter of the podcast creates
If you've been listening for a while, I'd love to hear your favorite episode or guest — send me a message and let me know.
If this podcast has helped you feel more informed, less alone, or more confident navigating symptoms like leakage, prolapse, pain, or return to running, I’d love for you to share it with a friend or leave a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐review.
